Radiant, Feathery, Layers Upon Layers Antique Pieced "Pinecone" Mat schomberg ontario distinguishable by the forked endI've finally figured out that "pinecone" is the term used to describe this sort of textile construction, with overlapping rings of inwardly pointing triangles. I keep wanting to describe it as toothy, and also feathery and I keep thinking "Venus dentata" too, especially with that bright red center!) I've come across just a couple of other mats of this sort over a number of years, and scooped them both up immediately, this one found in Maine. Glorious,
