The Hilt, Old Guard Chardonnay Vintage:2010 and the 2013 Barolo Riserva

and the 2013 Barolo Riserva Vigna Rionda is a true standout in the appellation

followed by intense layers of fruit that totally saturate the palate

This appears to have the stuffing to allow the flavors and finish to flesh out as the wine ages though I doubt that it will ever be seductive

A more deeply pitched nose combines notes of dark berries with those of floral

The Hilt, Old Guard Chardonnay Vintage:2010 and the 2013 Barolo Riserva(55% fruit from Sanford & Benedict vineyard and 45% from Solomon Hills vineyard), Pale gold. Musky, heady aromas of yellow plum, poached pear, lemon pith and iodine. Pliant and creamy in texture, with a restrained sweetness to its deep orchard and citrus fruit flavors.
