Saint Anne and Virgin Mary with Stars, Mid 19th Century Folk Art Votive Shadow Box finchley establishment 3” in diameter x 1”Just recently I found several little mid 19th c. shadow box forget me nots made just in this manner, which I find immensely charming, so I jumped on this when I came across it a wonderfully folky little icon honoring Saint Anne and her daughter Mary. At center is an early lithograph (c. 1830s 40s I believe), printed in Switzerland, portraying a young Mary at the knee of Anne, who points heavenward. But what I especially love is the acid green paper
