Nigel Lorringe daughter of the Earl of Carlisle from castle Howard 'Femme Se Retroussant'Nigel Lorringe, late 14th century, (1910). Costume of the reign of Richard II (1377 1399), showing a houppelande (voluminous robe) which reaches over his head, ornamented with a bold pattern.
