Portugal, Kingdom. An Order of the Tower and Sword, Commander, c.1915 Newly Listed for service aboard the HMSInstituted June 17, 1847. Type II. (1833 1917). In silver gilt and enamels, a beautiful decoration featuring a fine point star with ball finials and a green enamelled laurel wreath in each quadrant, a tower at 12 oclock, an obverse medallion featuring a sword with a wreath, encircled by a blue enamel ring inscribed VALOR LEALDADE E MERITO, reverse medallion features a book with the surrounding inscription PELO REI E PELA LEI, measures 63. 3 mm (w) x
