Instituted 14 March 1942 by King Victor Emmanuel III. (1942 1944 official issue; issued by the Italian Social Republic until 1945). A II Class Star, in silver, featuring four arms of faceted rays, the converse medallion super imposed on the obverse featuring a white enamel cross with thin wreath segments in each quadrant, the obverse medallion featuring an eagle on a blue enamel field, reverse with a
