The Golden Wedding; or, Fifty Years' Jubilee of Peace Size:M: 60 x 45cm Found in the collection of'The Golden Wedding; or, Fifty Years' Jubilee of Peace', 1865. This 'Jubilee' is celebrated by Punch and shows, left to right, John Bull, Napoleon III, France and Britannia, joining hands in a dance with Mr Punch fiddling away in the background. Peace had reigned, although sometimes uneasily, between Britain and France for fifty years. From Punch, or the London Charivari, June 18, 1865.
