Constructed of gilded and silvered brass, the obverse consisting of a Prussian imperial eagle clutching a sword and sceptre, overlaid by a banner bearing an inscription of MITT GOTT FR KOENIG UND VATERLAND (WITH GOD FOR KING AND FATHERLAND), in turn bearing a silvered eight pointed star with a central Prussian eagle circumscribed by an inscription of SUUM CUIQUE (TO EACH HIS OWN),
