The kit consists of a set of hardwood rails which connect to the Footboard (front side of the crib or Low Profile Footboard) with a "hook on" system, on the Headboard (back side of the crib) with a "bolt on" system. There are 2 slat rolls provided so you can place most mattresses directly onto the platform without having to purchase a box spring.
