A round silvered war alloy medal; the obverse inscribed Verdienst im Kriege (German Merit in War) within a laurel wreath; the reverse with a crowned and double mirrored royal monogram of Gnther; on a loop for suspension from a period original ribbon; measuring 39. 56 mm in diameter; weighing 28. 0 grams; in overall very fine condition.
