A Baden Merit Medal, Silver Grade, constructed of silvered zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward facing profile of Grand Duke Friedrich II, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central wreathed inscription of FR VERDIENST (FOR MERIT), unmarked, measuring 38. 43 mm in diameter, weighing 21. 8 grams,
